Travel math, done before you book

Most trips are won or lost before anyone packs a bag: at a booking window that opens and closes, at a permit lottery, at a gate where the wrong pass costs more than the right one. Summit and Spur does that arithmetic for you, routes and deadlines and fees, checked against official sources and stamped with the date of the check.

One publication, several shelves. Each shelf gets its own door, and this page is the hallway: pick the trip you are planning and go through the right one. What every shelf shares is the method. The facts come from the official pages, the numbers are shown rather than asserted, and when a fact cannot be verified, it does not ship.

Routes, deadlines, and the pass math

Five route guides built around how the parks actually run: Yellowstone in four days with the map, Grand Teton, Zion, Grand Canyon, and Rocky Mountain in three each. Every route respects the reservation windows that decide the trip, and the free calculator runs the America the Beautiful pass math on your own parks before you pay at any gate.

The brand's math, in one example. Three parks at $35 a vehicle comes to $105 paid at the gates. The America the Beautiful pass costs $80 for US residents. The pass wins by $25, and it still has the rest of the year to run. The live strip on the parks hub runs the same math on the parks you pick, and the full calculator adds per person entry and repeat trips.

Christmas in New York and Chicago

New York guide · November 6, 2026 Chicago guide · November 13, 2026

The newest shelf on the publication: city Christmas guides built the same way as the park routes, around the dates and the totals. Market dates and hours checked against the organizers, skating priced by what a visit actually costs once rentals are in, the Dyker Heights lights planned as a route instead of a bus ticket, and a trip budget calculator that adds the whole visit up before you book any of it.

The Christmas hub is live on this site now, and the two guides join it on the dates stamped above. Nothing is sold early: the guides ship when their facts check out, the same standard as the park routes.

The standard

The standard behind these pages

Fees, windows, and dates are verified against official sources, and each product prints its sources and its checked-on date. Where next season's rules are not yet final, the pages say so instead of dressing this year's rules up as next year's fact. Confirm before booking anything nonrefundable, and treat the official page as the final word.

The guides are written as research, with sources, and the planners they point to are ours, made by Summit and Spur and sold on Gumroad. That relationship is stated plainly because it is the honest one: these pages are our own first recommendation, not an independent review.
